In my last post, The Ultimate Guide To Reddit For OnlyFans Creators, I shared how you can utilise Reddit for OnlyFans promotions.
Today, I’ll be running over some of the worst mistakes you can make on the platform so you don’t jeopardise your success.
Don’t worry if you’ve already made some of these mistakes. You live and you learn!
I hope you find these helpful and as always, feel free to leave any questions you may have in the comments section down below.
Promoting on other creator’s posts
Just don’t do it, promise?
Posting to the wrong subreddits
Too many creators with tiny tits try to get away with posting to subreddits for big boobs.
Why bother?
You simply aren’t what they came looking for.
There are so many users out there who LOVE small boobs and cute little bums so go post where they’ll love you.
Sure, posting to the wrong subreddits may still get you some sympathy upvotes but the majority of community members are going to scroll right past you with disappointment.
If you’re unsure where to post, I’ve included 677 NSFW subreddits in the free cheat sheet below.
Wasting Time Talking To Free Loaders
If there’s one thing worth changing in your Reddit settings it’s disabling your messages and chats.
Your time is valuable and if users want to chat with you, they can follow the OnlyFans link in your bio.
Most messages you’ll receive on Reddit are from Reddit rats who claim to be sugar daddies and/or agents.
Real sugar daddies do not slip into Reddit DMs.
Agents? You don’t need them. They want a piece of your pie and you’re more than capable of running this as a one (wo)man show.
Dick pics? Who wants them anyway?
Make them pass your OnlyFans paywall before offering your time.
The only exception are public comments as replying will reach more than one person and allow the community to get to know you a bit better.
You’ll also be boosted by the algorithm and increase your exposure.
Giving away freebies
Do not, under any circumstances, offer freebies.
Not even your feet.
It’s not unheard of for feet fetish guys to ask for ‘previews’ before committing to becoming a customer.
Once they have their preview of your feet, they’ll do off.
Always put a price tag on your premium content and make them pass the paywall!
Don’t be delusional and assume offering them a freebie will convert them into a paying subscriber.
Anyone asking for free stuff is the least likely person to purchase!
Selling outside of OnlyFans
Not everyone will agree with this advice but I strongly suggest only selling on OnlyFans, or your preferred platform.
Established platforms are secure and reduce your risk of being scammed.
It’s far too easy for clients to buy something from you outside of OnlyFans, only to refund.
More often than not, PayPal and other services side with the customer.
Your best bet would just be to sell within an established, secure platform.
If Reddit followers ask to purchase something, you know where to send them.
That’s not to say chargebacks can’t happen, they do. They’re just less likely to occur on OnlyFans.
Conflating fluctuation with failure
Don’t be disheartened if your promotions fluctuate.
Some days you’ll do well, other days not so much. This isn’t abnormal or a reason to be concerned.
Some seasons are quieter than others, some days you post seconds after the hottest creator you’ve ever seen and she steals your upvotes.
Sometimes you’re lucky enough to post when everyone else seems to be posing in dirty mirrors in messy bedrooms.
It’s a bit of a game of luck, to be honest.
Just keep trying your best and make sure your posts are high quality.
If you’re ranking top/hot every day right now, don’t become too accustomed to it.
Fluctuations will probably occur sooner or later.
Revealing all on Reddit
Your public posts should tease at what you offer on OnlyFans.
Never show nudity on Reddit. Post selfies on the saucier side instead.
Consider your teenage bedroom.
Did you go through a phase of having your favourite boyband members on your wall? Were they naked?
How about sexualised album covers and music videos you’ve swooned over?
You can be turned on and turn other on without full nudity!
If this wasn’t the case, TikTok thirst traps wouldn’t work, would they?
Avoiding saturated subreddits
Don’t just stick to small subreddits because you think you have more of a chance.
While it’s harder to rank in larger subreddits, if you do manage to squeeze yourself into a top spot, you’ll gain so much more exposure.
Avoiding smaller subreddits
On the other hand, you shouldn’t avoid small subreddits.
Post to subreddits of all sizes and see which ones work best for you.
Relying on OnlyFans orientated subreddits
I see so many new creators making the mistake of posting to OnlyFans promotion subreddits, the kind that let you post your profile link.
This may be due to the fact that most subreddits (even the NSFW ones) don’t allow OnlyFans links.
This isn’t a disadvantage!
Remember, you can add your OnlyFans link to your bio.
Users who enjoy your posts in their favourite subreddits will visit your profile and follow you if they want to see more.
From there, they’ll find your link.
The OnlyFans subreddits are oversaturated with sex workers in every niche imaginable.
There is no type of creator.
It’d be like shopping for a phone in a general store.
Sure, you can buy a phone from a supermarket but if you’re serious and want expert help, a phone store is the way to go.
Even better if you niche down further by going directly to the company of your choice. Eg. Going to the apple store for an iPhone.
Reddit users often know exactly what they want.
They’re not looking for OnlyFans creators, they’re looking for gingers, blondes, big boobs, asians etc.
They look in specific subreddits which cater to their fetishes so find where you fit.
If you’re unsure where you belong, I’ve included 677 NSFW subreddits in this free cheat sheet.
Hard selling
Don’t seem like a seller.
The worst marketing mistake you can make is appearing to be a marketer.
Do not include your price!
Instead, focus on the product. If they truly enjoy your content, they’ll talk themselves into buying it.
Soft selling is definitely the way to go.
Wasting captions
NSFW images are blurred.
If you’ve any hope of standing out in an 18+ subreddit, you’ll need to entice with words.
You could hint at what you’re wearing or doing. Consider asking questions, even innocent ones.
Posting infrequently
You need to post consistently to make self know in community.
This is free OnlyFans promotion!
Why put the lottery on once a month when you can play ten times per day?
Posting when the community aren’t active
The importance of posting at optimal times cannot be overstated.
Otherwise, you’ll be trying to get the attention of users who are sleeping.
It just makes no sense.
Instead, post at optimal times.
Finding out the best time to post is as easy as checking up on your preferred subreddits a few times a day to see when traffic peaks.
It may even be worth jotting down the amount of users online each time you check.
You’ll spot a pattern soon enough.
Giving up too soon
Last but not least, quitting before succeeding.
Too many creators become confused by Reddit, insisting it doesn’t work, that it’s too complicated.
If that’s the boat you’re in, check out the free ultimate guide to Reddit I’ve left below.
It’s a step-by-step set up tutorial and includes tonnes of tips and tricks to jumpstart your success.
I assure you, it isn’t as hard as it may seem right now.
You’ve got this! Good luck ❤️
