Verify your ID

Next, you’ll need to submit government issued identification. 

You’ll be unable to upload anything to your profile until your ID has been verified.

What to do if you get rejected

Don’t be disheartened if OnlyFans reject you at first.

I was rejected three times before being accepted. 

After my second rejection, I started posting photos to Reddit and gained 418 followers with only 15 posts while I waited for OnlyFans to reconsider my fourth application.

If you get rejected, just carry on as though you’ve been approved.

Trust me, your free followers will appreciate it and eagerly anticipate your launch.

Remember, rejections occur to keep creators safe.

You could lie flat facing up with the camera above you, or lie on your side so your body takes up the space.

Alternatively, you could include a collage of your content. This way, you can include four or five vertical photos.

A photo of you and your cat simply won’t do.

If graphic design isn’t your strong suit, you could consider hiring a freelancer on Fiverr or Upwork.

Best bio practices

Humanise the digital experience by including a bit about yourself in your bio.

You don’t need to share anything invasive. Your interests will do.

Subscribers need to know you’re a real person they can connect with, not a self serving saleswoman or sex robot.

⚠️ Don’t overstate what you don’t offer.

‘I post soft-core nudity’ will work better than ‘I don’t post porn’

If you simply state what you don’t offer, deprivation will be at the forefront of your visitor’s mind.

Instead, describe what you do offer to position yourself positively.

When was the last time a vegan saw ‘we do NOT cater to vegans!’ on the menu?

Hide your follower count

An empty account is akin to an empty bar or restaurant. 

Although everyone has to start somewhere, smaller accounts often repel potential subscribers.

One way to get around this is to hide your follower count at first.

Once you have an impressive follower count, feel free to make this feature visible.

Automated welcome message

Generosity inspires reciprocity.

Rather than greeting your fans with an automated PPV message they have to pay to see, welcome them with open arms.

Although some creators use welcome messages as an opportunity to upsell, it’s unlikely you’ll build rapport with this approach. 

Instead, spoil your subscribers.

They’ve just spent their hard earned cash subscribing to see more of you.

Don’t throw it in their face by expecting them to pay again before they’ve even took the time to take a look at the media on your feed.

Of course, there are some exceptions such as fin-dom .

Otherwise, greet them as you would your new neighbour. 

Give them some home baked goods out of the kindness of your heart and it’ll incentivise them to stay subscribed to see what else is in store.

Don’t be the downstairs neighbour who knocks asking for favours.

Spoil them and they might just spoil you back.

Pinned Posts

On OnlyFans, you’re able to pin multiple posts to the top of your profile.

To draw attention to how much your content has improved since you started, pin one of your earliest posts. 

This way, fans may feel a little let down at first, but then you pick them right back up again with your recent posts.

It’ll give the impression that the best is yet to come, that you’re continuously improving (which, you should be aiming to do!)

Games, tip menus and polls are also worth pinning. 

Make a menu

Make a menu to let your fans know of any additional products or services they can purchase.

If you don’t want to offer extras, you could even just include a tip menu to let fans know what you’ll do with each tip amount.

For example, $10 for flowers, $15 for your favourite chocolates, $50 for dinner, $150 for luxury lingerie.

If they buy you items, consider showing them first.

Connect your Spotify

Connecting your Spotify to your OnlyFans account is another way to humanise the digital experience.

Consider how this will affect your branding if your music taste doesn’t exactly align with your adult alter ego. You could even set up a separate account. 

Make sure your anthem fits what you’d want your fans to connect with.

Time limits

You can add expiry dates to your posts so they’re only available for a set amount of time.

This seems like a bit of a strange feature but it’ll allow you to incentivise subscribers to stick around for next month’s content.

This way, you can sell past feed photos in bundles to new subscribers and your current fans get the amount of content they pay for, whether one, three or twelve months.. 

Lists

Make a messaging sequence to get to your know your fans on a personal level so you can tailer content to them.

This sounds like more work than it actually is.

All you need to do is create three or four broad categories. This could be subs, doms, boob men, ass men, feet fanatics or whatever fits your content.

Then, when you send PPVs, you’ll know who to send what. You don’t necessarily need to take different photos, you could accompany the same thing with a different caption.

Alternatively, take one or two sets of photos and split the set according to preferences.

I hope that makes sense.

Ultimately, your aim is to be personal and provide as much value as possible.

STEP 3: CREATE CAPTIVATING CONTENT

Before your first shoot, it would be worth making a note in your phone on what you’re willing to do, as well as what you’re unwilling to do.

Surprisingly, setting boundaries won’t deter subscribers.

Stay in your comfort zone. It’ll likely expand and you can grow with it, just don’t push your own boundaries by doing something you’re currently uncomfortable with. 

You need a niche

The importance of establishing yourself in a narrow NSFW niche cannot be overstated.

There’s no use in trying to appeal to anybody and everybody.

You’ll need to target a specific audience whose needs you can meet. 

Think of the ideal person who would want to subscribe to you. What are their interests and fetishes?

What categories to you fall into? 

Are you a busty red bead, a BBW, a petite teen, a girl with tattoos, glasses or thick thighs?

Write a list of categories you fall into so you can use relevant hashtags and post to the right subreddits so your ideal audience can find you.

Create three streams of content

Promotional content
Promotional content doesn’t need to be public. If you’d rather remain under the radar, contact a couple of top 1% creators in your niche to ask if they do payed promotions. 

You do not need to be nude in your promos. Consider them tasters of what’s to come in your feed and PPVs. Less is more in this instance. 

OnlyFans feed photos
Aim to post to your feed at least once a day.

Your feed photos should be better than what you’ve offered in your promo posts, but not as good as your premium content.

Premium content 
Premium content is the tip of the iceberg. Whether weekly PPVs or custom content. 

Quality vs Quantity 

Consistency is king, so your appearances should not be sporadic.

However, consistency should not come at the cost of quality.

It’d be better to have higher quality spaced out sets than to spam blurry hand held mirror selfies in the same pose. 

There’s no need to invest in top of the range equipment, your phone will be fine for now.

Just make sure you shooting when it’s light. 

Either wait for golden hour or invest in an inexpensive right light.

A tripod and bluetooth clicker wouldn’t go a miss either so you can take hand free selfies. 

Batch create

Once of the most efficient ways to save time when it comes to content creation is to batch create.

This way, you can shoot your sets at the start of the week and focus your energy on marketing throughout the rest of the week.

Schedule

Tools like Tailwind and Hootsuite are extremely invaluable. 

These social media schedulers allow you to queue upcoming content and it’ll post it automatically for you so you don’t have to do it manually.

Not only do schedulers help you save time, they also prevent social media burn out. 

You won’t find yourself wasting your days away by endlessly scrolling through things that make you feel bad about yourself. 

You could be on a date, walking the dog or taking a bubble bath when your posts are published.

OnlyFans also have their own scheduler. 

STEP 4: ATTRACT YOUR IDEAL AUDIENCE

Now that your profile is set up and you’ve created your first batch of content, it’s time to make yourself know to your ideal audience.

Unlike obsessive exes who subscribe to snoop, your ideal audience actively seek out adult content for the right reasons.

Just know that you won’t get very far by trying to appeal to anyone and everyone.

Instead of appealing to large, vague, undefined audiences, you should aim to appeal to specific interests and fetishes.

Best & Worst platforms for promotion

Instagram aren’t exactly OnlyFans friendly, few safe for work sites are.

If Instagram detect that you’re using their platform to promote your OF profile, they will permanently ban you.

Although, there are ways around this issue.

Avoid:

• Mentioning OnlyFans, OF, onlyfaaans, onlyfansss or any other obvious synonym.
• Linking to your OnlyFans directly
• Mentioning your OnlyFans in messages.
  

What to do instead:

• Include your OnlyFans in a link tree, which you’re allowed to put in your bio
• Promote your OF content in stories and hint to the link in your bio
• Use terms such as ‘my site’
• Consider changing your gender in settings if you’re female. Sex workers have reported changing their gender to male on the app helps them fly under the radar
• Set your location as OnlyFans
• Signal with blue heart and lock emojis

Like Instagram, TikTok take measures to remove sex workers from their platform.

A TikTok representative confirmed:

“We do not allow content that commits, promotes, or glorifies sexual solicitation or allow accounts that attempt to redirect traffic”

In other words, don’t link to your OnlyFans on TikTok. Avoid sharing links altogether to stay on the safe side.

Instead, include your Instagram or Twitter @ in your bio.

Your followers will know where to find you if post thirst traps, trust me.

Twitter is one of the few NSFW friendly platforms out there. Even porn is permitted.

With that said, posting pornographic content may diminish the incentive to subscribe.

What reason will your free followers have to pass your paywall if they can see all of you for free?

It’ll result in them just lurking and jerking.

Instead, post censored teasers.

Twitter is also a great way to let your personalty show.

One thing worth noting, however, is that while Twitter allow NSFW content, they do not allow the solicitation of sexual services.

Do NOT sound sales like by pushing your profile. Link it in your bio and underneath posts to avoid being banned.

I can’t recommend Reddit enough.

Reddit is by far the best platform to attract your ideal audience. You just need to find where you fit in.

Unlike Tik Tok, Reddit have no polices against redirecting traffic from your profile.

However, Reddit isn’t exactly ran by Reddit themselves, but by subreddit mods.

Subreddits are essentially sub categories based on interests.

Love coffee? r/coffee is for you!

Maybe you’re a cat lover, in which case, r/cats is the perfect place to find cats and a community of cat lovers.

If you’d rather look at big boobs, red haired women, girls in glasses, petite people or BBWs, there’s subreddits for those too.

Try searching categories you fall under and join and/or favourite them.

Once you’ve selected a handful, go in and read the rules of the community.

In most cases, you’ll be unable to link to your OnlyFans but don’t worry. Community members are often buyers who are browsing.

They know exactly where to find your link. It’ll be in your bio.

It’s also worth noting that some subreddits required karma for you to post. To acquire karma, post in other communities to gain upvotes (Reddit’s like system.)

While you won’t be able to link to your OnlyFans on the app, you are able to link to your other socials, which will redirect your matches to your OF profile.

Simply swipe anyone and everyone to make as many matches as possible.

Just a word of warning, you’ll be banned once Tinder clock on but you should be able to gain a handful of followers in your short time on the app.

If you’re daring enough to upload YouTube videos, you could see serious success.

One top 0% creator  uploaded her first video about OnlyFans to YouTube a year ago. 

Since, she has generated six figures.

To promote on YouTube, you could share your experience on OnlyFabs, create lingerie & bikini try ons, sex toy reviews, or even just share your interests and day-to day life.

Paid Promotions

By far, the fastest way to find fans who are willing to pay for premium content is by paying to be put in front of them.

Some top creators offer paid promotions on OnlyFans, others only offer social media shout outs, some don’t do promotions at all.

When I was first getting started, I offered a few top creators in my niche 10% of my earnings to be promoted by them.

In other words, I’d sign up with their link if they promoted me on their profiles.

This way, they’d earn commission if their promotion was successful.

Unfortunately, nobody was up for this arrangement, which is still a shame! I think it’s an amazing opportunity on both ends if the creators are in the same niche.

It’s win-win.

Consider giving it a try but don’t take it personally if you’re rejected.

I hadn’t even consider that some creators don’t even do promos as they may feel it interferes with the branding.

Fair game!

The first top 1% creator I asked about paid promos said she didn’t offer them but was super friendly about it.

She even offered a free social media promo.

A word of warning about paid promotions

Don’t be lured in by impressive follower counts.

I once heard a top 0% creator brag that he paid another creator to promote a free trial of his profile to their followers.

This gained him thousands of fans in a short period of time. He then used his new found (free!) following to appear as though he had a larger paying fanbase so he could charge other creators for shoutouts.

To avoid this scam, make sure the creator you’re paying has an audience who actually paid.

Don’t shy away from asking their follower count if it’s hidden. 

This is business and you need to know what you’re investing in.

Don’t be fooled by self serving snakes.

Another top creator who opened up a support group abandoned her paying members and even blocked them.

Do be careful!

STEP 5: LURE LURKERS PAST YOUR PAYWALL

The majority of your free followers won’t be willing to pay, and that’s okay!

OnlyFans estimate around 1-3% of free followers will convert to paying subscribers. 

Don’t let this dishearten you.

The more free followers you manage to attract on public platforms, the more paying fans you’ll be able to gain.

You need to nurture your free following

Consistency is king
A strong social media presence is key to convincing followers to click through to see more of you.

If your appearances are too sporadic, you’ll become a stranger.

Don’t be forgettable.

Make yourself memorable. 

Turn your DMs off

Accessibility is one of your OFs main selling points, which is why you shouldn’t respond to your free followers unless it’s in a public post.

Replying to public comments will give your followers a taste of your personality so you’re not just an inanimate object inside a screen.

It’ll also give you a boost in the algorithm.

Just don’t have long, drawn out conversations for free. That’s what your OF is for!

Less is more

Your subscriber’s satisfaction should increase at each level, which is why you should put your premium content behind your paywall and avoid nude and pornographic promotions .

If you show it all for free, your followers will have little incentive to subscribe to your OnlyFans.

If you post pornography on OnlyFans, promote your profile with nudes or censored teasers.

If you post nudes on OnlyFans, promote them with lingerie or bikini photos.

Prioritise your fans!

Honour your fans.

They’re the people who make this a possibility. You need to prioritise them.

Not only will doing so ensure they receive the digital products and services they signed up for, it’ll incentivise them to stay.

Aim to provide as much value as possible and it’s win-win!

Don’t be sassy unnecessarily unless being bratty is part of your branding.

Don’t become demanding. On the other hand, don’t tolerate demanding fans. 

Be fair and respectful, offer what your profile’s bio states you offer and you’re running an ethical business.

If you recycle content you’ve already used in a public promotion, your free followers will assume there’s more of the same past your paywall.

To avoid being banned or getting into trouble, stay away from safe for work sites and opt for NSFW friendly alternatives instead such as Reddit and Twitter.

Do not comment on other creator’s posts with the aim of attracting an audience. If you want them to promote you, pay for it!

The majority of your free followers won’t pay, and that’s okay! Only around 1-3% of them will convert to paying fans. Don’t let this dishearten you.

Nurture your free followers
The more free fans you have, the more paying fans you will be able to gain.

Consistency is king
Aim to post to your OnlyFans profile every day. If this is unattainable, try every other day.

Distribution is queen
There’s no use in having an OnlyFans worthy of being in the top 0% if nobody knows about it. As OnlyFans has no discover feature, it’s entirely up to you to drive traffic to your profile.

Less is more
It should be better and pricer the further they go.

Turn off your DMs
Prioritise your paying subscribers. Do not have back and forth conversations with free followers unless it’s in the comments.

Reply to public comments and questions
Reply to your public comments to allow your audience to get to know you a little better. It’ll also give you a boost in the algorithm.

Stay safe
The most valuable piece of advice in this post would be to stay safe and put your own needs first. Do not, under any circumstances, bypass your own boundaries to appease your audience.
