How to promote your OnlyFans on Tik Tok without being banned

Driving traffic to your OnlyFans with Tik Tok is a bit like playing buckaroo.

Chances are, you’re probably going to get flung off the platform at some point, but the longer you manage to to hold on for the ride, the more rewards you’ll be able to reap.

In this guide, you’ll find everything you need to succeed on this safe for work app as an NSFW creator.

Why Tik Tok?

Tik Tok is by far the easiest platform to go viral on.

It’s not uncommon for accounts to reach 100,000 followers in a few weeks, with many making it to a million in their first year.

However, one thing you need to know before taking Tik Tok is that it’s strictly safe for work.

You’ll need to be extra careful with your content and marketing strategies to avoid being banned.

Tik Tok’s sexual content policies

Tik Tok prohibit the promotion of sexual services on their platform and permanently ban users who break this rule.

Despite this, there are a few ways sex workers are able to work around this restriction.

How to prevent permanent bans

One thing worth doing before even creating your Tik Tok account is hiding your IP address with a VPN.

This way, when you’re banned (which, is almost inevitable) you will be able to pop back up again without the app knowing it’s you as your location will be concealed.

As well as preventing permanent bans, VPNs protect your privacy, keeping your identity and location hidden from fans, family and even employers.

How to avoid being banned on Tik Tok

To avoid being banned:

  • Keep your content safe for work
  • Do not include links in your bio
  • Include your Twitter or Instagram @ in your bio
  • Do not reference OnlyFans, OnlyFaanss, OF, OnlyFriends or any other synonym in captions
  • Do not reference or promote your profile i

Keep your content safe for work

Hopefully by now you know that less can be more.

You do not need to post pornographic content in public promotions, you don’t even need to be nude.

If anything, sharing too much for free will diminish the incentive for potential subscribers to pass your paywall.

Instead, sexualise yourself in ways considered safe for work by posting thirst traps.

This could mean wearing tight or revealing clothing while dancing or even doing day-to-day things like cleaning.

You could even share mildly sexual story times in the #KinkTok community.

Trust me, when horny audience members see your thirst traps they’re typically well aware you have an OnlyFans.

They’re also usually aware you can’t link it so don’t worry, you’re not undiscoverable.

Just a word of warning to anyone with big boobs, your video is more at risk of being removed as AI systems automatically detect large areas of skin and may assume you’re displaying nudity.

To avoid being detected by AI with a large chest, show less cleavage and work around it with form fitting clothing.

Bouncing, jiggling and panning the camera may help.

Do not include links in your bio

Tik Tok’s ultimate aim is to keep people on their platform, which is why they aren’t too keen on users redirecting to external sources.

This unwritten rule applies regardless of whether or not the creator is a sex worker.

One way some creators get around this is to use a business account account, opposed to a personal account.

With Tik Tok for business, you’ll be able to link to your website if you have one.

However, it would be wise to hold off .

Again, buyers know an OnlyFans creator when they see one as well as where to go to get more.

Include your Twitter or Insta @ in your bio

As your followers don’t have a link to redirect them to your OnlyFans, it would be wise to keep your username consistent across all platforms so viewers can just search you.

If you weren’t able to match your Tik Tok to your OnlyFans username because somebody beat you to it, don’t worry.

Just pop your social media handle in your bio, but do not link them under any circumstances.

Do not reference OnlyFans

Avoid mentioning OnlyFans altogether. Avoid mentioning it in your captions, avoid mentioning it in DMs.

Just don’t do it.

How to grow on Tik Tok

Although being spontaneous is often advantageous, method to the madness is a must.

By all means, whip out your phone if an ingenious idea happens to strike you when you least expected it, but hold off on uploading until you have a content plan in place.

Otherwise, content that could’ve performed well and attracted an audience will flop and you won’t gain any fans.

There’s nothing worse than wasted efforts when it comes to marketing, so let’s avoid that happening altogether!

For best results:

  • Define your niche
  • Post at optimal times
  • Upload consistently (2-3 times per day)
  • Take advantage of trending challenges and audio
  • Incentivise engagement
  • Engage with your community
  • Create a series
  • Pay attention to your analytics

Define your niche

The broad Tik Tok community is made up of a collection of smaller, more intimate communities, making it the ideal place to attract an audience as you can target interests.

You’ll have better luck targeting a narrow niche opposed to trying to appeal to everyone.

If you’re unsure where you fit in, follow popular OnlyFans creators on Tik Tok to see what communities are working well for them.

Upload consistently

Feed the algorithm.

Posting 2-3 times a day is a good place to start.

Post at optimal times

What’s the use in publishing when your followers are fast asleep?

Check your analytics and pay attention to when they’re online so you can post at optimal times.

To save time, use the scheduler so your posts roll out automatically.

Jump on trends

Tik Tok culture is extremely fast paced and ever changing.

If you notice that a song, challenge or video style is trending, take advantage of it immediately.

Some seem to miss the point of posting trending content.

The aim of jumping on trends is to add to them, to expand it with your own twist.

Do not just copy other creators.

Here’s how following a trend should work:

Here’s how not to trend.

The first three videos all used the Eastender’s theme tune with the same sense of humour.

However, they are not identical.

The last two videos have the same caption, which is just a huge no.

It’d be like stealing someone’s Insatgram #OOTD (outfit of the day) and taking a selfie in the same location in the same pose, then tagging in them in it.

Keep in mind that your content will be shown in a feed of others jumping on the trend, so if you copy a creator, they will probably see.

The trend was supposed to be to use the Eastender’s theme tune.

For any American’s who may be wondering what the hell Eastenders is:

The others are similar but not so much so that they’re basically identical.

I once heard a creator say she sends videos she’s going to copy to her own inbox so she can record them when she has time to.

Please, do not do this.

You must make yours different. The same, but different.

You should be well aware by now that you should not be posting to places if you don’t fit the niche.

If you’re not a plus sized girl in panties, don’t post to r/plussizepanties.

If you’re not adding anything relevant to the Tik Tok trend you’re trying to be piggybacked by, find somewhere you actually fit!

Next time you come by a popular sex worker on Tik Tok, scroll through their profile to see what seems to be working so well.

What trends are they joining in on and how can you do the same, differently?

Incentivise engagement

Aim to incentivise engagement with your content, captions and subtitles.

Doing so will not only create a closer community and allow your followers to get to know you better, it’ll increase your watch time.

As Tik Tok content plays on loop, you’ll receive more views if they someone stops to leave a comment because it’ll be looping in the background.

The more views you receive, the more your account will be boosted by the algorithm.

Engage with your community

Engaging with your audience will incentivise the quiet people at the back to talk for once.

Create a series

Half of the top ten viral Tik Tok videos that went viral last year were part of a series.

Pay attention to your analytics

Without analysing your content strategy, there’s no knowing what you should make more or less of next time.

Aim to finely tune your content to your audience, they’ll love you for it.

How to tell if you’ve been shadow banned by Tik Tok

Frustratingly, it can be difficult to determine whether or not you’ve been shadow banned by Tik Tok as you will not be notified if it occurs.

Am I actually shadow banned?

Let’s not assume the worst without further investigation.

There are a number of reasons your account may appear to be shadow banned, even if it’s not.

One way to tell if you’ve been shadow banned is to take a look at your ten most recent videos.

Does the video you think is being hidden fit with your overall theme?

If not, your audience may just not be into it as much as your other Tik Toks.

Your video could also still be being automatically reviewed and you’re assuming the worst too soon.

Of course, it may have already been reviewed and deemed to be low quality content.

In which case, aim to improve next time.

For a definitive yes or no answer on whether or not you’ve been shadow banned, search via hashtag on another account.

If you can see your video in the hashtags you used on another account, you are not shadow banned.

If your video is not appearing under your chosen hashtags, you’ve been shadow banned.

Causes of shadow bans on Tik Tok

Consistent violation
Unsurprisingly, consistently violating Tik Tok’s terms of service (more than 10 times) will result in being banned.

Dangerous content
Content that is deemed dangerous is hidden. However, this is a confusing cause because people who are just feeding their pet snakes have been deemed as dangerous, even if their account is full of snakes. Strange!

Artificially manipulation metrics
Don’t buy views and followers. You are only allowed three accounts on one device

Multiple devices logged into one account
ogging into Tik Tok on multiple devices can trigger bans, which is worsened if the log ins are from different locations. This is somewhat frustrating for creators who have social media managers. If you’re under management, make sure your manager manages your entire account.

Consistently deleting
You should avoid deleting content consistently as this activity appears suspicious.

Not removing restricted videos
If you’ve uploaded a video that has been restricted (you will be notified if this happens) remove it ASAP. Doing so may lift the limitation of exposure that has been placed on your account.

Otherwise, appeal Tik Tok’s decision if you believe their action was unjustified.

It could just be the case that they acted too soon or the AI system was incorrect. It happens.

However, you ought to avoid appealing restrictions if you’re actually in violation of Tik Tok’s policies.

If you have less than 2,500 fans, it’s probably worth just starting over again.

How to appeal Banned Videos on Tik Tok

Sometimes removals happen for no reason.

Non-sexual, non violent content is removed on a regular basis due to Tik Tok’s AI system and mass false reports.

Even accounts with millions of followers deal with removals for no reason, so don’t worry too much if/when this happens to you.

You’re not necessarily in deep trouble with Tik Tok.

It could just be a light slap on the wrist.

Violations are ranked in severity and most won’t impact the long term health of your account.

However, some banned videos can result in permanent banning.

Worst offences on Tik Tok:

  • Terrorist threats
  • Impersonation
  • Promotion of suicide and bulling
  • Banned songs (yes, really)

Audio
Tik Tok are meticulous about how they let you use sound, Make sure your audio is either original, sourced from their official library, is royalty free or part of a paid membership like epidemic sound.

Controversial hashtags
Be careful which hashtags you use. Sometimes a hashtag may be deemed okay until one outrageous addition to the trend ruins it for everyone and Tik Tok shut the whole thing down.

When Tik Tok shadow ban you, they simply limit your exposure.

If, on the other hand, Tik Tok ban your video, they’ll usually let you know and give you the opportunity to appeal their decision.

However, you will not always receive an explanation, which can be frustrating to say the least.

Either way, it’s worth appealing banned content if you didn’t break the rules.

To resolve the issue, tell Tik Tok why you think the ban was incorrectly implemented.

Most videos are reinstated within the hour if the content is appropriate for the platform.

If the human on the other end deems the original decision still stands, go ahead and delete the content that wasn’t reinstated if Tik Tok didn’t delete it.

Otherwise, leaving it up may harm the overall health of your account and jeopardise its longevity.

What to do if you’re permanently banned

If worst comes to worst and you lose your account, get back on the horse!

OnlyFans creators are kicked off Tik Tok all the time, many have had multiple accounts already.

Simply use a VPN and set your location to a destination you’ve never been to before and bam, you’re in again.

Conclusion

Keep your content safe for work
Don’t post anything explicit and avoid showing too much cleavage if you’re boobs are above average to avoid being flagged by Tik Tok’s AI system.

Do not include links in your bio
Tik Tok want users to stay inside the app. This applies to everyone, not just sex workers but it’s an easy way for them to detect you’re a SW if you include your link, even if it’s in a linktree.

Include your Twitter or Instagram @ in your bio
Instead if adding a link, type out your Instagram or Twitter handle.

Do not reference OnlyFans
No OnlyFans, OF, OnlyFaaasnss, or anything like it.

Do not reference or promote your profile in private messages
As well as avoiding mentioning OnlyFans publicly in your content, captions and subtitles, you should refrain from mentioning it in DMs. Trust that your followers know you have an OnlyFans and that they know how to get there.

Define your niche
As is the case on any platform, you need a niche on Tik Tok.

Post at optimal times
Check your analytics to see when your audience online. If they’re most active when you aren’t around, say, if your audience are on the other side of the world, schedule!

Upload consistently (2-3 times per day)
Aim to upload at least two to three times per day to be boosted by the algorithm so you can attract an audience. Otherwise, you’re just putting content out into the abyss.

Take advantage of trending challenges and audio
Jump on trends but make sure you add your own twist. Don’t just copy other creators.

Incentivise engagement
If you can get your audience to engage, they’ll not only get to know you better, but your video will be boosted because it’ll be playing on loop in the background while they comment.

Engage with your community
There’s not much use in incentivising your audience to engage unless you’re also active

Create a series
Consider creating a 2-3 part series so your followers stick around longer.

Pay attention to your analytics
Keep a close eye on your content to see what works well and what doesn’t so you can make more of what you audience love most.

How to tell if you’ve been shadow banned
Log in to a different account and search the hashtags you used. If your video doesn’t show up, you’re shadow banned.

How to appeal a ban
Only appeal bans if your video is appropriate for the platform. You can contact Tik Tok directly or on their Twitter with a reason you believe the ban was a mistake.

What to do if your account is deleted
If worst comes to worst and you’re permanently banned, install a VPN and hide your location so you can start with a clean slate.

I hope this guide was useful.

As always, stay safe and good luck with your OnlyFans journey ❤️
