Once you’ve set up your OnlyFans and optimised your profile, it’d be worth implementing some additional measures to secure your safety before you begin posting and promoting.

Choose a pseudonym 

If you haven’t already, assign a stage name to your adult alter ego.

Doing so will not only help you hide from friends and family, it’ll also protect your identity from your fans and followers.

Basically, you are the business.

Limited companies, on the other hand, are seen as separate entities. 

As a limited company, you will be discoverable on Companies House.

I’d recommend registering as a sole trader if privacy is a concern for you.

While the sole trader model has the benefit of being beginner friendly, you may still want to hire an accountant to avoid running into tax troubles. 

Hire an accountant

If taxes and finance aren’t your strong suit, hire someone to help you.  There are even accountants who specialise in adult entertainment. 

All you’ll have to take care of on your end is filing your income and expenses. 

Going incognito is not enough

The only way to browse privately is by hiding your IP address with a VPN.

Without one, your location and identity will be exposed.

Your internet service provider may also sell your data to third party companies.

Using a VPN will also help you get around social media bans. If you are banned by Tik Tok or Instagram, you will be able to create a new account from a ‘different location’ even though you’re in the same place, using the same device.

Block unwanted followers 

Block anyone you definitely don’t want to be discovered by before they’ve even had the opportunity to find you, especially on apps like Instagram that tend to recommend recognised numbers.

Anti virus 

Antivirus programs are designed to detect and remove viruses and other kinds of malicious software from your computer or laptop that grant hackers access your passwords and private files.

It’s important to keep it up to date to protect your data and devices.

Build behind the scenes

This last bonus tip doesn’t do much to protect your privacy but will help you succeed if you’re just starting out.

By building behind the scenes, you’ll have a populated profile to launch with, which will be more appealing to potential subscribers.
